One week and a day.

This is how long before preschool starts, one week and one day. I think I would pay a whole months tuition if they could just go back when the public schools starts. But I repeat myself. This is the last week I have to deal with whining bored kids all day. This is the last week where I have no work. This is the last week there is no exercise. This week is full of parent orientations and school meetings. Thursday marks the last kids birthday of the year and the last day I will have 2 four year olds. We are all sick of each others company so I have decided to make this a great week. We are going to the museum tomorrow with a friend. Probably more for me than them but I don't care. I would even be willing to take them to the pool, but it is closed during the week. I can feel this is going to be a Fall of changes, all of them good I hope. Next week is the first PTO meeting and the first day of school for frick-n-frack. It is the first full week of work for me and the following week I finally get to start my volunteering at the academy. I just hope that turns out as I hope. This is the last week of chaos. Onward to routine!

Feeling my inner Harpy

Do you ever sound like a broken record in your house? Does it wear on you like it does on me? Between the kids and the husband I think I have the same 6 arguments every other day. Is this part of marriage and motherhood? Know what would be nice? Is if someone followed through on their "I'm sorrys" and changed the behavior that is wrong. I am tired of feeling like a fishwife. I am tired of feeling like the worlds worst most nagging mother.

Dear summer, blah blah blah

Second grade started and I couldn't be happier. In fact the bus stop is in front of my house and there are about 11 kids who get on there. When the bus came the first day there were all the kids and about 4 of us moms standing there. The bus pulled up, stopped, the children loaded.. and the mothers cheered! It was very funny. My neighbor 4 doors down was standing there with her mother and grandmother watching the children load and they were laughing at how happy the moms were when the bus came. Clearly, school board, this is an indicator that the summer is too long.

Since school started last Thursday, my other two have come down with strep. I took Tuck to the Dr. on Thursday, they told me it was a virus.I took him again on Monday because clearly it wasn't. He tested positive for strep then 2 days later Delilah came down with it too. TWO sick kids for a week and more.
I started my new position at the YMCA in Kinder-care but haven't been there most of the time because my kids are sick. I planned all summer even called in some teacher friends of mine for their opinions and advice so I have all these great plans. Now on top of that they have shut down at the Y and therefore no childcare for frick-n-frack. I tried to keep them busy in the other room and then in the room with us, but they are just too much of a distraction.Clearly I am not working for the next week until labor day. Which just sucks. I guess I am just really disappointed that I went to all this work and preparation and then ...nothing. Now I have to organize and write out all my plans for the other helpers so they know exactly what the ideas are.
Of course, this might all work out for the Y because I heard through someone, who heard through someone who said it to her, that me having the kids there while I taught may not be able to happen. Awesome. This place is so disorganized anyway, I am surprised that they even noticed my kids.
I think that if frick-n-fracks preschool offered to start when the public schools did I would be willing to pay a whole months tuition to make that happen.I am that desperate for time and space for me.
